A Brief Introduction to College of Literature
The College of Literature has an enrollment of over 1600 full time students, among whom 1000 major in the Chinese Language and Literature and 600 in Primary Education. On its faculty of 66 teachers are 11 full professors, 32 associate professors and 37 doctorates, among which there are renowned linguistics and literature researchers as well as famous poets and authors.
It has 1 municipal-level Key Discipline of “Modern Chinese Literature”, 2 municipal-level Distinguished Teaching Teams of “Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature” and “Chinese” and 2 municipal-level Excellent Visual Courses of “Modern Chinese Literature” and “Guided Reading of Literary Masterpieces”. It is home for Research Center for Chinese Ancient Civilization, Research Center for Contemporary Chongqing Writers, Research Center for Literary Aesthetics, and Language and Literature Research Center. Chongqing Association for Comparative Literature is attached to the College.
Students enjoy a colorful accumulation of activities. Caishi, literally meaning Gathering Stones, has been acknowledged by Chinese National Students Union and the Chongqing Municipal Committee of Youth League as a model students club and a synonymous magazine has been sponsored by students for over 30 years among other students clubs and magazines, namely Association for Primary Education, Secretaries Association and Zi Juanhua (Rhododendron Flower). Thousands of students have been cultivated as renowned scholars, poets, writers, entrepreneurs, government leaders, school leaders, top-ranked school teachers and backbones for primary education.

1. Chinese Language and Literature (Teachers Education)
The objective of this program is to cultivate high-quality application-oriented talents that are comprehensively developed in moral, intelligence, sports and aesthetics education, efficiently equipped in basic knowledge and theory of Chinese language and literature, strongly provided with competence in listening, speaking and reading and cross cultural communication, a sense of aesthetics and excellent teaching morality, fully able to teach Chinese in middle schools and conduct research for basic education, and capable of working at Chinese teaching and education in primary and secondary schools and Chinese language application in cultural, publishing, media and governmental sectors.

2. Chinese Language and Literature (Non-Teachers Education)
The objective of this program is to cultivate application-oriented talents that are comprehensively developed in moral, intelligence, sports and aesthetics education, strongly provided with a spirit of innovation, sustainable development and excellent adaptability, efficiently equipped in basic knowledge and theory of Chinese language and literature, basic theories and skills in secretarial science and capable of working in Chinese language application in cultural, publishing, media and governmental sectors.

II. College of Media and Communications
The College of Media and Communications includes three undergraduate programs, namely Broadcasting and Television Journalism, Art of Broadcasting and Hosting, and Networks and New Media, with a full time enrollment of 820 undergraduates. On its reasonably-structured teaching team of 42 teachers are 4 full professors, 5 associate professors, 5 doctorate holders, 1 doctorate candidate and 32 master degree holders.
The College has strongly reinforced the practicability of its two undergraduate programs mentioned above, and fully pushed forward reforms of talent cultivation and classroom teaching. More than 2 movie productions have yearly been presented to train its teachers and students as well as promote local culture and the fame of the university.
The ratios of its graduates’ applying to and being admitted by universities home and abroad for master degree programs have been on a steady increase. The ratio of its graduates’ employment upon graduation has reached over 95% and its year-end figure is more than 99%.

The objective of this program is to cultivate application-oriented journalist talents that have a good command of basic theories in news broadcasting and basic skills in broadcasting and television. The objective of this program is, in accordance with the developmental needs of the cause of broadcasting and television and news communication, to cultivate high quality application-oriented journalist talents that are comprehensively developed in moral, intelligence, sports and aesthetics education, and capable of conducting broadcasting and hosting in mandarin, news reporting, and movie and television dubbing in radio stations, television stations and other medium sectors.

The objective of this program is to cultivate high quality application-oriented and inter-disciplinary talents that are well developed in humanistic quality and artistic appreciation, competently educated in basic theories of network communication, fully acknowledged in advanced digital communication technologies, comprehensively capable of integrating diversified media into communication, thoroughly competent in networks and new media and media content production, technical maintenance and administration which satisfies the transitional needs of traditional media, and that understand communication and are adept in designing and technologies.

III. College of Foreign Languages
The college has 3 undergraduate programs of English (Teachers Education), English (Non-Teachers Education) and Japanese, with a full time enrollment of 1172 undergraduates, and a faculty of 65 teachers, among whom there are 3 full professors, 13 associate professors, 11 doctorates (1 from Côte d'Ivoire), 4 doctoral candidates, 38 master degree holders and 10 international teachers of English and Japanese. On its member team are 1 Chongqing municipal-level polar young teacher, 2 model teachers and 1 teaching-morally advanced teacher of Fuling District, 3 university-level model teachers, 3 excellent lecturing teachers, 4 teaching-morally advanced teachers, 2 new teaching stars, 2 excellent class tutors and 2 excellent program instructor teams. 45 of its teachers have studied, visited or received short term training in the US, the UK, Canada, Singapore, Australia and Japan among other countries.
In the past five years, around 50 students have undergone exchanged study in John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin of Poland, Kagoshima University of Japan, Nakhon Sawan Rajabhat University of Thailand, Chodang University of Korea, and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology of Australia and over 100 students have participated in Summer Social Practice in the US.

1. English for Business
The objective of this program is to cultivate high quality application-oriented talents that are fully developed in moral, intelligence, sports and aesthetics education, well equipped with a good command of English language and basic knowledge of international business, capable of applying English to business and cross cultural activities, and able to conduct the tasks of secretary, commercial translation and customer services in governmental commercial sectors, foreign companies and other foreign sectors.

A Brief Introduction to the College of Management
The college has a faculty of 51 teachers (inclusive of 6 part-time teachers), among whom there are 6 full professors, 13 associate professors, 30 lecturers, 17 doctorates, 22 master degree holders, 4 master degree supervisors, 1 Chongqing municipal-level excellent teacher, 3 university-level academia leaders, 3 top talents of science and technology of Fuling District, and 3 instructors of entrepreneurship for small-sized and micro enterprises.
The college has opened 4 undergraduate programs, namely Marketing, Tourism Management, Logistics Engineering and Public Affairs Administration. The program of Tourism Management is a university-level featured one. Meanwhile, the college has actively developed postgraduate training, co-conducting with Central South University of Forestry and Technology postgraduate program of Agricultural Improvement (in the area of village and regional development), which includes agriculture-related management (inclusive of marketing and human resources management), countryside social development, countryside logistics, countryside and township construction and small town management and village tourism.
The college includes 4 departments, namely the Department of Industrial and Commercial Management, the Department of Tourism Management, the Department of Logistics Management and Engineering, and the Department of Public Affair Administration. It leads the Experimental (Training) Center for Economic Management, co-built by the central and local governments, Huafu Experimental Center for Hotel Management sponsored by Wenzhou Huafu Investment Management Company and Wenzhou Huafu Charity Funds for Education, Research Center for Medium- and Small-sized Enterprise, Fuling Center for Tourist Development, and Fuing Training Base of Tourist Talents, and 28 teaching bases of professional practice with administrative and business organizations.

On the strong teaching team of 88 teachers (inclusive of 22 part time teachers) are 10 full professors, 19 associate professors, 25 doctorates (inclusive of candidates), 51 master degree holders, 2 Chongqing municipal-level polar young teachers, 4 university-level academia leaders, 1 university-level teaching polar and 3 top talents of science and technology of Fuling. It currently opens undergraduate programs of International Business and Trade, Financial Management, Financial Management (Experimental Class of Distinguished Accountants), Financial Engineering, Economic Statistics. Among them, Financial Management has been recognized as Chongqing municipal-level featured undergraduate program. Besides an enrollment of 2300 full time students, the college has opened double degree programs and continuing education programs with an enrollment of 500 students.

The objective of this program is to cultivate high quality economic statistics talents that possess excellent mathematics and economics quality, that grasp basic theories and skills of statistics, that are competent with applying computer soft-wares to statistics processing and analyzing, that are capable of conducting statistics surveying, statistics information management and quantitative analysis and that are equipped with certain innovation and entrepreneurship.

VI. College of Computer Engineering
An Introduction to the college
College of Computer Engineering currently opens 2 undergraduate programs, namely Computer Science and Technology, and Internet of Things, the latter one being a municipal-level featured undergraduate program. On its faculty of 48 teachers are 4 full professors, 15 associate professors, 27 lecturers, 5 doctorates and 35 master degree holders. The ratios for higher professional titles and master degree holders and above are 40% and 83% respectively. It has an enrollment of over 1,300 students.
The college includes Experimental Teaching Center for Computer Engineering, Department of Computer Science and Technology, Department of Internet of Things Engineering, and Section for Public Computer Teaching. The Experimental Teaching Center for Computer Engineering holds 7 basic computer laboratories and 21 professional laboratories.
The college powerfully cultivates students’ practicability, employment competitiveness and innovative entrepreneurship by establishing 18 extra-campus practice bases, in a joint university-industry mode, with renowned network industries as ZTE, Ambow Education, Chongqing NIIT, Chinasoft International, and Chongqing Unetstar.

VII. College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering
The College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering includes Department of Chemistry, Department of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Department of Environmental Science and Department of Material Science. On its faculty of 81 teachers (inclusive of 3 extra-campus part time teachers) are 20 full professors (inclusive of full engineers), and 21 associate professors (inclusive of senior experimentalists), at a combined ratio of 50.6%, 49 doctorates, at a ratio of 60.5%, and 2 concurrent doctoral supervisors and 7 concurrent master degree supervisors. It has 1 Chongqing municipal-level Key Discipline (Physical Chemistry), 1 municipal-level Key Laboratory of Inorganic Special Functional Materials, 2 municipal-level featured undergraduate programs of Chemistry and Environmental Science, 3 municipal-level scientific innovative teams (Nano Bio-Chemical Sensor Technology and Application, Near-Infrared Spectrum Detecting Technology Research and Application, and Green Production and Industrialization of Functional Material of Powders), 1 expert of MOE Overseas Master Program, 3 Ba-Yu Scholars, 1 teacher funded by Western Light Talent Training Program, and 4 municipal polar young teachers (inclusive of those being funded). It has been structured with academia polar experts as core, young and middle-aged teachers as backbone and young teachers as main force.
Currently the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering owns a laboratory space of about 6,000 square meters (another 18,000 square meters being under construction), occupied by professional laboratories and basic chemistry laboratories, and about 1,400 sets of precision instruments and engineering training devices, with a worth of over 18,500,000 RMB yuan, namely UV/visible/near-infrared light spectroscopes, atomic absorption spectrophotometer, high performance liquid chromatography, fluorospectrophotometer and electrochemical analyzing system.
The College has a variety of scientific platforms and around 30 professional bases for practice of chemistry, chemical engineering, environmental and material fields. Renowned scholars and professors have frequently been invited from home and abroad to extend academic exchange and communication.

The objective of this program is to cultivate application-oriented professional talents of chemical engineering that are equipped with knowledge of chemical engineering and chemical technology, and are capable of conducting tasks of engineering design, technology development, production technique management and scientific research in sectors of chemical industry, oil refinery, metallurgy, energy, light industry, medicine and environmental protection.

4. Material Chemistry
The objective of this program is to cultivate high quality application-oriented talents that are well developed in moral, intelligence, sports and aesthetics education, that have a good possession of basic theories and practical skills of chemistry and material chemistry, that are familiar with principles and technologies of inorganic material production and combination, that are capable of conducting modification of inorganic material and research of new material, and in particular capable of undertaking production, research, development and management in newly arising fields of functional materials with fluorescent, electrical, thermal and magnetic features, and new types of inorganic synthesized materials.

The College of Life Science and Technology has an enrollment of around 1,300 full time students and a teaching team of 48 full time teachers, among whom there are 12 full professors, 22 associate professors, totally at a rate of 50%, and 31 doctorates, at a rate of 46%. Besides, there are 4 teachers ranked Chongqing municipal-level young experts of distinguished achievements, pilots of scientific research and technology and Ba-Yu scholars, 5 Chongqing municipal-level polar young teachers, 14 top talents of science and technology of Fuling District, and 30 teachers awarded titles of Famous Teacher, Leading Teacher, Excellent Lecturer, Teaching-Morally Advanced Teacher, Top 10 Campus-Touching Teachers, Excellent Educational Management Personnel and Excellent Supervisor for National Challenge Cup Competition of Innovation and Entrepreneurship for College Students. It has another 22 teachers concurrently employed from relevant governmental organizations and corporations.
The Experimental Teaching Center of Life Science and Technology is a Chongqing municipal-level model experimental teaching center, with a space of nearly 6,000 square meters and instruments and devices worth 22 million RMB yuan. The college has 4 laboratories for featured and advantageous discipline jointly built by central and local governments, 2 laboratories sponsored by special development funds from central government finance to support local university, and 5 university-level key laboratories. 30 extra-campus teaching and practice bases, inclusive of 1 state-level one, have been established.
The College has 1 Chongqing municipal-level key laboratory, 1 municipal-level engineering research center, 2 municipal-level scientific innovation platforms, 2 municipal-level scientific innovation teams and 4 research institutes. IX. College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
An Introduction to the College
The College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering started its mechanical category of undergraduate programs in 1958, which includes programs of Mechanical Design and Production and Automation, Material Molding and Monitoring Engineering, Industrial Design and Material Science and Engineering, of which the first one is a Chongqing municipal-level featured undergraduate program. Mechanical Engineering has been listed as a prioritized discipline to be constructed by the university, and Material Science and Engineering is a prioritized discipline to be constructed for a master degree conferring unit.
The College currently has an enrollment of 1,200 full time students and a faculty of around 70 teachers piloted by an internationally renowned scholar Professor Sun Changqing, Fellow of the Institute of Physics, Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, among which there are 20 professors and associate professors, at a total rate of 30% and 46 doctorates, at a rate of 66%, that graduated from National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University and famous universities within the country.
It has co-established a post doctoral research station of Inorganic Special Functional Materials, owns 4 provincial-level discipline platforms: Chongqing 2011 Collaborative Innovation Center of New Materials Technology and Modern Manufacturing, Chongqing municipal key laboratory of Supernormal Coordination Bond Engineering and New Materials Technology, Chongqing Expert Coating Studio of Xu Xiufei, and Chongqing Crowd Creation Space of Mechanical and Electrical DreamWorks, 2 university-level scientific research platforms: Research Center for New Materials Design and Molding Technology, and Collaborative Innovation Center for New Materials Technology and Modern Manufacturing, a modern engineering practice center, devices for teaching and research with a value of 30 million RMB yuan and 23 extra campus teaching and practice bases with San’ai Hailing of Chongqing among other organizations.
Its teachers have obtained First Laureate of Khwarizmi International Award, the Inaugural Nanyang Award of Research, 10 provincial-level awards of the first, second and third prize of Science and Technological Progress Award, and around 230 patent licenses, published 1,000 papers in SCI and EI magazines and over 30 publications represented by Relaxation of the Chemical Bond, hosted 120 research projects of various levels and over 20 teaching reform projects including one major project of Chongqing, and has won the third prize of 2017 Teaching Achievements Award of Chongqing with Reform and Practice of 7-in-1 in Nurturing Modes for Application-Oriented Talents of Mechanical Category of Undergraduate Programs.

X. College of Civil and Architectural Engineering
An Introduction to the College
The College of Civil and Architectural Engineering opens 3 full time undergraduate programs: Civil Engineering, Cost Engineering, and Building Electricity and Intelligence, which have formed a group of undergraduate programs of civil engineering with an enrollment of 1,053 students.
The College currently has a faculty of 52 teachers, among which there are 18 teachers holding higher professional titles, 9 doctorates and 32 master degree holders. 80% of them have frontline work experience of design, construction and supervision and 15 of them have been state-licensed as structure engineers, construction engineers, cost engineers, supervision engineers and consultant engineers (investment).
The College has 1 Chongqing municipal-level engineer research center: Research Center for Building Full Life Cycle Health Examination and Disaster Protection, and 1 university-level innovative center for science and research: Research Center for Engineering Disaster Monitoring and Protection.
The Experimental Teaching Center for Civil Construction has a space of 3,600 square meters (exclusive of 16,000 square meters under construction), over 700 sets of experimental instruments and devices worth 13 million RMB yuan, which, structured on the knowledge system of the first level of discipline of civil engineering, provides students with competence of basic theory, project construction, project supervision, project design and project management.
For the past 4 years, its teachers have hosted over 50 projects of different levels worth around 3 million RMB yuan, published 20 papers in SCI and EI magazines, has obtained over 30 patent rights and compiled 4 publications and textbooks. Its students have obtained over 40 awards in the National Structural Design Competition for College Students, National Zhou Peiyuan Mechanics Competition, and National Application and Skills Competition of Construction Technology for Civil Engineering Universities.
